Expectations

 

Expectations of Phase 3 Registrars

  1. They will provide an email address at the beginning and agree to be in an e-mail group. This will include all the GPRs in the Group, the Group Leader, their GP Trainer and the named administrative person from the VTS and Psychologist.

  2. Communication will be through email and these will be checked at least once a week.

  3. They will attend all Wednesday sessions unless there is a valid reason not to.

  4. If unable to attend they will send apologies giving a reason, and will also inform their GP trainer.

  5. Attend the sessions on time or inform the named Admin person or Group Leader if likely to be late.

  6. Identify and address their individual learning needs within the overarching curriculum with the help of their trainer and group leader.

  7. Contribute to curriculum formation through their identified learning needs.

  8. Prepare for the seminars and bring along interesting/difficult cases for discussion.

  9. Be the lead person for at least one session during the 6 months choosing a topic from the agreed list.

  10. Give regular written feedback on sessions.

 

Expectations of the Group Leaders

  1. Send information through the email system in advance of sessions.
  2. Co-ordinate all Wednesday teaching sessions.
  3. Develop a programme for Wednesdays that attempts to include the learning needs of the GPRs within the Group, which incorporates the overarching curriculum.
  4. Respond to and share feedback with the group.
  5. Work closely with the named administrative person and keep her informed of all changes.
  6. Outside speakers to be introduced by one of the Group leaders as far as possible.
  7. To appoint a named person from the Group to lead Self-directed/Out in Practice sessions.
