Non-driving GPRs-discussion re: GPRs who are unable to drive. PIMD not allowed
to ask candidates if they can drive or not, but it would be the GPR's
responsibility to hire taxi to do house calls-can get a grant for this
Reporting in - everyone reported in as to how things were going with there
current registrars.
Out in practice sessions may be re-starting.
Appraisals of GPRs-something we are all supposed to be doing. Will need to do
PPDP/form 4 etc and document well.
Library
Alistair gave a demonstration of what is available on the internet and also
showed us the Wellway intranet that has various educational aspects that can be
used as the library-including Mentor/Prodigy/Red Book/Oxford textbook/Bandolier
and websites including Cambridge-Calgary (www.skillcascade.com),
emis-online.com and ixquick. The
gp-training.net site is also excellent for having links to all these things. (now
www.gp-training.net)
After seeing what was available electronically it was felt that there is no need
to have a book library in the practice but that a library for a training
practice should ensure that the GPR has access to the internet to allow them to
use:
* Well Close Square website
* Cambridge-Calgary website
* Access to medical texts-e.g. mentor/prodigy
Details of the May event were then discussed.
On the minutes page.
