Matters arising
- Ongoing Meetings:
It was felt that the poor attendance at the last meeting might have been due
to its proximity to Christmas. Discussion was held to consider the best format
for meetings and letters from some members not present were also considered.
It was generally felt that the afternoon format should remain the basic core
of meetings but that structured evening meetings could also be added as
appropriate. Thus we shall continue to have 3 monthly afternoon meetings, our
day and a half in May and some evening meetings depending on the needs of the
group.
- May Event:
Potential topics for this meeting were discussed. It was felt that the time
could be well spent in considering assessment particularly using the video
i.e. summative assessment, MRCGP and our training skills. Mike Tinker has also
asked to meet the trainer groups to discuss the audit component of Summ Ass.
Nick Booth is still anxious to talk to us about the use of the computer in the
consultation. The proposed dates are the 9th /10th of May.
GSF will contact potential session leaders and co-ordinate a program.
- Innovative Posts:
These are becoming popular choices for Phase 2 jobs. We now have several two
trainer practices in the group. There is potential for interested practices to
set up these posts which would attract and extra Training Grant and have a GPR
in the practice for three or four sessions a week. If interested contact Mike
Dodd (who has already created such a job in Old Age Psychiatry) or myself
- Associate Director Changes
Due to the change around at the PGI Paul Creighton has now become responsible
for the re-appointment visits for trainers in Northumberland and he has asked
to attend a NNTG meeting. I have discussed dates with him and he would like to
attend on 9/5/02 with a chat for about 30mins prior to dinner.
On the minutes page.
