Undergraduate teaching

• The advantages of the development of the learning organisation.
• The benefits of the use of GP registrars as student teachers, and therefore the development of teaching skills in the GP registrar.
• Developing a course for undergraduate teachers. It was pointed out that most of the undergraduate teaching is not being performed by trainers. It would be useful to run a course ourselves to develop the skills of those involved. As an offshoot, this would also help develop the learning organisation within individual practices.
• The development of our trainer group practices as a unified undergraduate teaching group. John will pursue this within the Department. "Curriculum change is evolutionary" (not revolutionary!).
• There has been excellent feedback from this student cohort regarding the teaching content of the attachments. The students particularly valued the ability to follow individual patients.
• The department was very pleased with the way that practices have committed themselves enthusiastically to undergraduate teaching.
