North Northumberland Trainers Group
Annual report to the Scheme 2001
|
 |
- The group meets regularly and continue to be productive.
- The main focus for this year has been the continuing development of a peer
appraisal system for trainers. This involves a trainer/GPR pair visiting
another pair and training experiences in both practices being explored. This
discussion is based on a version, of the previously produced, P2D2 document
for GPR appraisal. Progress continues.
- Part of the trainer appraisal idea was for us to look at teaching videos.
As we had little idea how to do this we devoted our annual 2 days away to
the topic. We asked Julie Draper from Cambridge to resource the event and
came away with a Callgary-Cambridge type tool for looking at teaching
videos. Full details available at www.wellclosesquare.co.uk. It became
apparent that much more was gained from looking at these videos in a group
rather than one to one and this will be incorporated in our final peer
appraisal set up.
- 4 intending trainers are due to join the group in September and we are all
looking forward to the changes in direction that this will no doubt bring.
