Mrs B is a 45 year old housewife who smokes fifteen cigarettes per day. She
attends for cervical smear when you find her blood pressure to be 158/94. She
returns for three more readings over six weeks and you record her average as
154/94. She is perfectly well and has no family history of cardiovascular or
cerebrovascular disease under the age of 60.
What next?
You find her fasting blood glucose to be 4.8, her total cholesterol 7, HDL 1.15
and she has no LVH.
What would be your management at this stage?
