Mr A is a 32 year old undertaker’s mate who bashed his thumb with a hammer while “boxing up” in the course of his occupation. He smokes thirty cigarettes a day and has a staple diet of cornish pasties and potato crisps.
He was somewhat upset when he attended Casualty where his blood pressure was
recorded at 190/102. He was advised to attend surgery to have his BP assessed
and you find a series of three readings to be 160/100, 138/96 and 130/80.
