Avoid
- Antibiotics within 14 days of the test - most will suppress the urease activity to H pylori and can cause a false negative result.
- Proton pump inhibitors within 14 days of the test - most will suppress the urease activity to H pylori and can cause a false negative result.
- Eradication therapy within 1 month of the test.
- H2 antagonists within 2 days of the test - will have an immediate supressant effect.
- Antacids on the day of the test.
