The aim is to collect all the urine you pass, over a 24-hour period, in the container provided. This is best done by starting it when you get up in the morning.

For example:

At 8.00am go to the toilet and empty your bladder - discarding this first one down the toilet. From then on collect all the urine you pass and put into the container provided (use an old jug). Keep going, saving all the urine that you pass, putting it into the container until 8.00am. the next morning. At 8.00am empty your bladder and put that last sample into the container, so that you have completed a 24-hour collection.

If you are doing 3 collections in a row, go onto the next container finishing it off in the same way at 8.00am the following morning. Please bring your container/s in to the surgery by 10.30am.
