Doctors interested in becoming appraisers should contact the appraisal
administrator.
The potential appraiser will meet with the GP
tutor to discuss the
appraisal process.
The RCGP faculties in the Northern Deanery (NE England and Cumbria
faculties) will organise annual training sessions for new GP appraisers on the
Haman/Irvine model.
The course leaders will advise NAT on the suitability of the intending new
appraiser - if there are concerns, the GP tutor will discuss these with the
intending appraiser and a suitable outcome reached. If there is diversity of
opinion, the arbitration procedure may
be invoked.
