Payments to appraisees
- Payments to GP principals are included in their global sum
- Salaried doctors and doctors on the retainer or flexible career schemes
should have time made available during their normal working day for their
appraisal
- Locum doctors do not have protected or paid time for appraisal in the
normal working week. It has been recommended that locums are reimbursed for
the time taken for appraisal, but this has not yet been clarified with the
Care Trust. It is expected that this fee would be equivalent to the income
generated by a locum doing 6 hours work. This appraisal fees would be
superannuable and it would be the responsibility of the locum to declare this
income on the GP Solo form.
An annual study day for appraisal will be
funded by the Care Trust. The Care Trust will not pay locum or travelling
expenses for appraisers to attend this meeting - this money is included in the
payments for appraisal.
